Have you ever had a week where you feel confident and soooo motivated but then only to find yourself feeling tired, emotional and overwhelmed a week later... Making you think you are crazy?

For lots of women, this can feel extremely frustrating and also confusing. We tend to question ourselves, wonder why our motivation disappears, or compare ourselves to the version of us that seemed to have everything together just days before.

But what if nothing is wrong with you?

The reality is that women aren't built like men and designed to feel the same every day. Unlike them, whose hormones follow a daily cycle, women's hormones fluctuate throughout the month. These changes will influence everything from our energy levels and mood down to our confidence, our social battery and how we feel in our own bodies.

Despite how much this impacts us as women, so many of us grow up without learning how our cycle actually impacts our daily lives.

The Menstrual Phase - Our body's Winter

This is the phase most of us are actually familiar with. Your period comes, our hormone levels are at their absolute lowest and our body is working super duper hard.

During the phase, we tend to feel way more tired, naps are at an all time high. We might be skipping making social plans this week meanwhile trying to do normal daily activities becomes a major chore.

Is it really fair that society still expects us to keep functioning normally while our bodies are working overtime. We should be allowing ourself to relax and not be ashamed of it.

The Follicular Phase - Spring

Where our period ends and our oestrogen begins to rise.

We finally start to feel motivated again, excited for starting new things. Not only that ,but confident inside and out.

This is the best time for us women to start new projects, set realistic goals and work on them.

The Ovulatory Phase - Summer

When we have never been better. Our confidence goes to an all time high. We have so much energy and feel so vibrant.

During this we are more social. Not only this ,but motivated to put ourselt out into the world.

This is the best time to make plans.

The Luteal Phase - Autumn

After ovulation, progesterone begins to rise.

For some women, this phase feels grounding.

For others, it can bring lower energy, increased sensitivity and a much higher need for boundaries.

You may find yourself feeling less social, more easily overwhelmed, or simply craving slower mornings and quieter evenings.

This isn't your body failing you. It's your body asking for something different.

Instead of pushing harder, this phase wants us to listen even more closely to what we actually need.

The Misunderstanding

One of the biggest misconceptions women are taught is that we should feel the same every day.

The reality is that our bodies are designed to change throughout the month. Our energy changes. Our needs change. Sometimes our emotions, motivation and confidence change too. That doesn't make us inconsistent.

Final Thoughts

Your cycle is more than just your period. It influences how you feel, how you move through the world and how you care for yourself.

Learning how our body works during each phase can help us not only plan our life ,but understand our bodies on a deeper level.

Why don't you try noting down how you feel during each phase next month and learn more about yourself.
